Deep Performance Diagnostics

Your wearable tracks the strain.
Your blood reveals the cost.

Heart rate variability and recovery scores tell you how ready you feel. Comprehensive blood work reveals the internal realityโ€”diagnosing hidden hormone depletion, silent inflammation, and cellular fatigue before they limit your progress.

    +9 Strategic Biomarkers

What the 9 extra markers add

All nine are direct lab measurements, not calculations. Six fill out the hormone picture behind recovery, training load and stress; three add inherited heart risk, vascular health and a key mineral.

    6 Hormone Measurements

    Sex Hormones & Stress Axis

Direct blood assays showing anabolic capacity, active hormone availability and how your body is handling stress.

    Free Testosterone Bioactive

The unbound, biologically active fraction available immediately to muscle and tissues.

    SHBG Carrier Protein

Sex hormone-binding globulin; regulates the balance between bound storage and active free hormones.

    LH Pituitary Signal

Luteinizing hormone; the brain's signal that drives testosterone and estrogen production.

    FSH Pituitary Axis

Follicle-stimulating hormone; monitors pituitary-gonadal feedback and reproductive health.

    DHEA-S Adrenal Reserve

An adrenal hormone and building block for sex hormones; often tracked alongside cortisol for stress and recovery.

    Cortisol Stress Hormone

The main stress hormone; a morning value puts sleep, stress and training load into context.

    3 Heart & Mineral Markers

Inherited Risk, Vascular Health & Minerals

Markers a standard check-up rarely includes, for long-term heart health and muscle function.

    Lp(a) Inherited Risk

A cholesterol particle set mostly by your genes; one test shows a lifelong heart-risk factor.

    Homocysteine Vascular Health

An amino acid linked to B-vitamin status and blood vessel health.

    Magnesium Muscle & Sleep Mineral

Supports muscle and nerve function, energy production and recovery.

    Using a wearable?

Bring your blood results into WHOOP and your other apps.

WHOOP currently sells Advanced Labs testing only in the United States. Members elsewhere can upload their own lab results to the WHOOP app at no extra cost, so you can test in Thailand and still see your biomarkers next to your recovery, sleep and strain data.

MedEx is an independent provider and is not affiliated with WHOOP. Upload availability depends on WHOOP's app and your membership; check the WHOOP app for current options.

    1. Test at MedExBook either panel at a branch or at home. Both use biomarkers WHOOP Advanced Labs supports.
    2. Get your reportYou receive your results as a report you can save and share.
    3. Upload itAdd the report in the WHOOP app, or in any health app that accepts lab uploads, then compare results with your daily data over time.

    Why test your blood

Your wearable shows the what. Your blood shows the why.

Athlete stretching outdoors with a subtle wellness graphic accent

    Train with numbers, not guesses

See how hormones, iron and inflammation respond to your training load.

Healthy woman relaxing in a pool with a subtle glowing wellness-tech halo

Stay strong for years to come

Track ApoB, Lp(a), HbA1c and insulin, the markers behind long-term heart and metabolic health.

Person sleeping peacefully while wearing a fitness tracker

    Understand your sleep and recovery

Cortisol, thyroid, iron and vitamin D help explain low sleep and recovery scores.

    Is this for you?

Useful when training and recovery don't add up.

    Building a baseline

Record where you stand before a new training block, race season or lifestyle change, so later results have something to compare against.

    Persistent fatigue

Low energy or slow recovery can have many causes. Iron, blood count, thyroid and vitamin D are common places to start looking.

    Wearable users

Pair what your wearable tracks every day with blood biomarkers WHOOP Advanced Labs supports, for a fuller picture.

    Heart and metabolic health

ApoB, Lp(a), HbA1c and insulin give more context than a standard cholesterol check alone.

    Test by goal

The biomarkers that matter for what you're training for.

Health enthusiasts rarely test for one reason. Here's which markers in the panel speak to the goals people ask us about most.

    Endurance and energy

Low iron stores are one of the most common reasons runners, cyclists and triathletes feel flat, especially women and plant-based athletes.

Ferritin, iron, TIBC, iron saturation, hemoglobin, hematocrit, RDW, vitamin D, TSH

    Strength and muscle

Hormones drive how well you build and keep muscle. Free testosterone and SHBG show how much testosterone your body can actually use.

Testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG, estradiol, LH, cortisol, DHEA-S, creatinine Advanced 65 for full hormones

    Recovery and overtraining

When sleep scores drop and heart rate variability stays low, blood markers help separate hard training from a deeper problem.

hs-CRP, cortisol, white cell count and differential, AST, ALT, ferritin, TSH

    Metabolic health and body composition

Insulin often rises years before fasting glucose does. Tracking both gives an earlier signal than a sugar test alone.

Fasting glucose, HbA1c, insulin, HOMA-IR, triglycerides, cholesterol/HDL ratio All in both panels

    Heart health and longevity

ApoB and Lp(a) are the markers preventive cardiologists focus on, and neither is part of a standard cholesterol check.

ApoB, Lp(a), LDL, HDL, non-HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, homocysteine, hs-CRP Lp(a) and homocysteine in Advanced 65

    Women's health and hormones

Cycle changes, low energy and under-fuelling show up in hormones and iron. The Advanced 65 panel adds LH, FSH, free testosterone, SHBG and DHEA-S.

Estradiol, LH, FSH, testosterone, SHBG, DHEA-S, TSH, free T4, ferritin, vitamin D

    Inside the panel

    Seven categories, one report.

Switch between panels to see what changes. Markers highlighted in orange are only in the Advanced 65 panel.

    Category Biomarkers included Count
    Total Complete panel 65

Lymphocytes, eosinophils and basophils are counted as two biomarkers each (absolute count and percentage); neutrophils and monocytes are counted once, as a percentage. Some items, such as globulin, the albumin/globulin ratio, the BUN/creatinine ratio, eGFR, HOMA-IR, non-HDL cholesterol and the cholesterol/HDL ratio, are calculated from other results on the same report.

Find a marker to see what it measures and which panel includes it.

      Compared with a routine check-up

What a standard check-up often misses.

A routine annual check-up usually covers blood count, sugar, cholesterol, liver and kidneys. That's a useful screen, but it leaves out the markers active people ask about most.

Biomarker Why it matters Routine check-up Essential 56 Advanced 65
ApoB Counts cholesterol-carrying particles; a stronger heart-risk signal than LDL alone Rarely Included Included
Lp(a) Inherited heart-risk factor that diet and exercise barely change Rarely Not included Included
Fasting insulin Flags insulin resistance before blood sugar rises Rarely Included Included
HOMA-IR Insulin resistance score from glucose and insulin Rarely Included Included
hs-CRP Low-grade inflammation linked to recovery and heart risk Sometimes Included Included
Ferritin and iron studies Iron stores behind fatigue and poor endurance Sometimes Included Included
Vitamin D Bone, muscle and immune health Sometimes Included Included
Cortisol Stress hormone that responds to training load and sleep Rarely Not included Included

      How it works

      From booking to results.

      1. Book with MedEx

Choose Essential 56 or Advanced 65, then pick a MedEx clinic or ask about collection at home or your hotel.

      2. Give one blood sample

A trained professional takes a routine blood draw from your arm. It takes a few minutes.

      3. Review your report

Results are grouped by category with reference ranges. Go through your results with a MedEx doctor, included in your panel.

Preparing for your test? See how to time your blood test around training.

      Get results you can trust

Time your blood test around training.

Exercise, food and time of day all move blood results. These habits make one test comparable with the next.

      Before your test

      • Rest 24โ€“48 hours from hard sessions. Long runs, races and heavy lifting can temporarily raise AST, ALT, creatinine and hs-CRP and change cortisol.
      • Fast 8โ€“12 hours. Water is fine. Glucose, insulin, triglycerides and HOMA-IR need a fasting sample.
      • Book an early slot. Cortisol and testosterone peak in the morning, so test between 6 and 10 AM each time.
      • Mention supplements. High-dose biotin can interfere with some hormone and thyroid tests; ask whether to pause it for a few days first.
      • Note your cycle. For estradiol, LH and FSH, record your cycle day. Many clinicians prefer days 2โ€“5 for a baseline.
      • Test when well. A cold or infection raises white cells, hs-CRP and ferritin. Reschedule if you're unwell.

      How often to retest

      First test
Your baseline. Everything later is compared against it.
      After 8โ€“12 weeks
When you change training, diet or supplements. HbA1c and iron stores take about three months to show a change.
      Every 6 months
A common rhythm to track trends once things are stable, or before and after a training block.
      Once
Lp(a) is mostly inherited, so many guidelines suggest measuring it at least once in adulthood.

      Reference range or optimal range?

Your report shows each result against the laboratory's reference range, the range found in most healthy people. Many performance and longevity services also talk about "optimal" ranges, which are narrower targets. A result inside the reference range can still be worth improving, and one slightly outside it isn't always a problem. Review your results, and any targets you want to aim for, with your MedEx doctor.

      Set the right expectation

What a biomarker panel can and can't tell you.

      This panel can help

      • Give you a baseline across seven areas of health
      • Flag results outside the reference range worth discussing
      • Track changes when you retest after training or lifestyle changes
      • Add blood data to what your wearable already tracks

      It can't do alone

      • Diagnose a condition without a clinical assessment
      • Explain every cause of fatigue or poor performance
      • Replace advice from your doctor about medicines or treatment
      • Show changes that happen between tests

Feeling unwell now? Chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting or sudden severe symptoms need urgent medical care, not a scheduled blood test.

      Biomarker guide

The markers health enthusiasts ask about most.

Short, plain answers to the biomarkers people search for before booking.

      What is ApoB?

Apolipoprotein B sits on every particle that can carry cholesterol into artery walls, so it counts those particles directly. Two people with the same LDL can have very different ApoB, which is why preventive cardiologists increasingly use it.

      What is Lp(a)?

Lipoprotein(a) is a cholesterol particle whose level is set mostly by your genes. A high result raises long-term heart risk and changes how aggressively other risks are managed. Because it barely changes, one test is often enough.

      What does HOMA-IR measure?

HOMA-IR combines fasting glucose and fasting insulin into one score for insulin resistance. Higher scores mean your body needs more insulin to control blood sugar, often years before glucose or HbA1c look abnormal.

      Why test ferritin?

Ferritin reflects your iron stores. Low ferritin can cause fatigue and poorer endurance even when hemoglobin is normal. It also rises with inflammation, so it's best read alongside hs-CRP.

      What does hs-CRP show?

High-sensitivity C-reactive protein detects low-grade inflammation. It rises after illness or a very hard session, so a single high result is worth repeating after rest before drawing conclusions.

      Free vs total testosterone

Total testosterone is everything in your blood; free testosterone is the small part not bound to proteins and available to tissues. SHBG decides the split, which is why the Advanced 65 panel measures all three.

Is HbA1c better than fasting glucose?

They answer different questions. Fasting glucose is a snapshot of one morning; HbA1c reflects average blood sugar over about three months. Insulin adds a third view of how hard your body works to keep sugar steady.

      Why check cortisol?

Cortisol follows a daily rhythm, highest in the morning. A morning value helps put stress, sleep and training load into context, but one reading is a snapshot rather than a full picture of your stress response.

      Frequently asked questions

      Before you book

Can I get a WHOOP Advanced Labs test in Thailand?

WHOOP currently sells Advanced Labs testing through its app only in the United States. Members in other countries can upload their own lab results to the WHOOP app at no extra cost. Both MedEx panels are built around biomarkers WHOOP Advanced Labs supports, so you can test in Bangkok or Chiang Mai and upload your report. MedEx is independent and not affiliated with WHOOP.

How much does the performance blood test cost?

The Essential 56 panel costs เธฟ9,999 (15% off เธฟ11,764) and the Advanced 65 panel costs เธฟ15,999 (15% off เธฟ18,822) per person. Book with a friend and you each get an extra 10% off: เธฟ8,999 or เธฟ14,399. Both prices cover one blood draw at a branch. Home and hotel collection is free for both panels. Both panels can also be bought as e-vouchers.

      Is a doctor consultation included?

Yes. Both panels include a consultation with a MedEx doctor to go through your results, flag anything worth following up and answer your questions.

How does the bring-a-friend discount work?

When you book together with a friend, you each get an extra 10% off the discounted price. Tick "I'm bringing a friend" in the booking form and add your friend's details. The discount is applied when MedEx confirms your booking.

      Which panel should I choose?

Essential 56 covers the core areas most people want to check, including testosterone, thyroid (TSH and free T4), the HOMA-IR insulin resistance score and lipid ratios. Choose Advanced 65 if you also want a fuller hormone picture (free testosterone, SHBG, LH, FSH, DHEA-S and cortisol), inherited heart risk (Lp(a)), homocysteine and magnesium. If you're unsure, ask MedEx or your clinician.

What does "aligned with WHOOP Advanced Labs-supported biomarkers" mean?

The panels are built around biomarkers that WHOOP Advanced Labs supports. Ask the MedEx team how to use your results alongside your WHOOP data.

      How does the e-voucher work?

Buy the panel now and use it later at any MedEx branch or for home collection. After you send your request, MedEx sends a secure payment link and then your e-voucher by email. You can buy it as a gift by adding the recipient's name and email. Ask the team about validity and refund terms when you buy.

      Do I need to fast?

Fasting is usually recommended because glucose, insulin, triglycerides and HOMA-IR are affected by food. MedEx will confirm the fasting time when you book. Water is normally fine.

Are the hormone results useful for women?

Yes. Estradiol, LH, FSH, testosterone and SHBG are relevant for women too, but they vary through the menstrual cycle. Mention your cycle day, contraception or hormone therapy when you book so results can be read correctly.

      Can supplements affect my results?

Some can. Biotin can interfere with certain hormone and thyroid tests, and iron or vitamin D supplements change those results. Tell the team what you take before your blood draw.

Where can the sample be collected?

At our branches in Bangkok (Sukhumvit 13 and Phra Khanong) or Chiang Mai, or at your home or hotel. Home and hotel collection is free.

How long until I get my report?

Most results are ready within 24โ€“48 hours of your blood draw. You'll get your report by email as a PDF you can save, share or upload to WHOOP.

Is this a good longevity blood test?

Both panels cover the core markers used in longevity and preventive health: ApoB, HbA1c, fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, hs-CRP, vitamin D, and liver and kidney function. Advanced 65 adds Lp(a) and homocysteine. They don't include genetic testing or a biological age score.

      Can tourists and expats book?

Yes. Book at a branch in Bangkok or Chiang Mai, or choose collection at your hotel or home. Call the 24/7 line on +66 2 544 0001 or message us on LINE or WhatsApp.

Can I add vitamin B12 or extra thyroid tests?

Yes, ask when you book. Free T4 is already in both panels, and magnesium and DHEA-S are in Advanced 65. Popular add-ons include vitamin B12, folate, free T3, thyroid antibodies (anti-TPO), creatine kinase, GGT, uric acid and PSA for men over 40. The team confirms availability and price.

      How often should I retest?

Retest 8 to 12 weeks after changing training, diet or supplements, then every 6 months to track trends. Lp(a) usually needs testing only once. Your clinician can suggest what makes sense for you.

Book the panel that fits your goals.

Book a visit at your nearest branch or at home, or buy an e-voucher to use later or give as a gift.
